Year, New Predictions

12. Have your say on it on LinkedIn.

This month’s profile is
of JUDr. Jan Barta. Jan studied at Univerzita Karlova v Praze,
Pravnicka fakulta and qualified as a (Doctor of Law), Intellectual
Property Law in 2012.
interest in Security?
My primary field of law
is intellectual property rights and how it relates to IT Law, copyright
law, trademarks, industrial designs, personal data protection, etc..
This is all inter-twined with information technology so gaining a high
level understanding of the approach to securing an organisation, in
particular for data protection, can help me advise clients suitably.
Which aspect of
security will you be following closely this year?
I'll be following GDPR closely as the deadline for organisations to comply gets nearer.
What can you offer the Czech Chapter?
I can give a different
perspective on the way executives approach security. I understand the
value of the assets they are trying to protect and the reasons they are
doing it. In particular when you are considering the legal consequences
of an incident.
You’re a lawyer! Can you
help with my parking fine?
Of course! But it’s
probably cheaper to just pay it.
